Sight System Ltd is a service provider to support the NHS recover from the impact of the pandemic and the very long waiting lists in key specialties including the cancer pathway, histopathology and ophthalmology elective services such as cataract surgery. We provide specialist services to NHS private providers such as consultant histopathologist services to assist in the NHS cancer pathway, including diagnosis, staging, and multi-disciplinary team meetings where individual treatment plans for patients with cancer are finalized. We also provide ophthalmology consultant services to support the NHS and NHS providers deliver outstanding Cataract Surgery, Yag Lasers, General Ophthalmology, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Glaucoma management, and other services.

Our Ophthalmology Services
We provide services in high volume cataract surgery, general ophthalmology, glaucoma management, lens exchange, paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology.
Cataract Surgery is a procedure to remove the lens inside your eye which has become cloudy and replace it with an artificial lens. Our consultants are experts are very experienced in this operation and typically perform around 3 to 4 thousand such sutureless operations per year using the modern technique of phacoemulsification.
Our Histopathology Services
Histopathology is the cornerstone of accurate and timely diagnosis in the cancer pathway, understanding the pathogenesis of various neoplastic and no-neoplastic diseases. Our Histopathology services include traditional slide/microscope sub-specialist reporting of pre-prepared H&E slides of surgical specimen including specialist testing such as immunohistochemoistry and molecular diagnostics. Our aim is to ease the NHS backlogs by providing the highest quality reporting and service standards, using RCPATH datasets as guidelines, with reports returned to clinicians within 10 working days from the receipt for pre-prepared slides. Our clients benefit from direct access for advice and case discussion and can access reports immediately via a web based reporting system.

Usman Mahmood
Mr Mahmood finished his ophthalmology training in the East of England before joining University Hospital Leicester for a fellowship in Strabismus, Paediatric and Neuro Ophthalmology. After completing this fellowship he joined the world renowned Moorfields Hospital for a fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology. He has a special interest in high volume cataract surgery, paediatric ophthalmology, squint surgery including adjustable suture surgery and complex lens exchange surgery.

Dr. Seemeen Umar
MBBS, Dip Pathology Sciences, FRCPath, UK
Dr. Seemeen Umar is a Histopathology Consultant at Rotherham General Hospital. She completed her medical degree from University of Health Sciences Lahore followed by the post graduate diploma in basic pathology sciences at the same university, before arriving in the UK in 2008. Her histopathology training was in the Yorkshire and Humber deanery, during which she developed a keen interest in GI, Gynae and Digital pathology. She is a deanery approved clinical and educational supervisor of specialist trainees in Histopathology. She participates in various EQA (external quality assurance) schemes as part of quality improvement and keeping up to date in addition to being a member of the Yorkshire EQA committee. She is on the Royal College of Pathologists approved list of examiners, responsible for overseeing and invigilating FRCPath-1 and FRCPath-2 exams.
In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family, going on long walks and hiking.
